1. Barton Springs

One of Austin’s most popular swimming spots is located within the grounds of Zilker Park. The recreational outdoor swimming pool is filled with water from the Main Barton Spring, the fourth largest spring in Texas. The temperature hovers between 68F to 74F. 3. Blue Hole

The spring-fed water in the Blue Hole swimming area sounds perfect during a hot summer day. The park includes trails, pavilions, and picnic areas for you and your family to enjoy. Although swimming during summer is only allowed in designated areas, the entire park is open for visitors to enjoy. Don’t forget to give them a call to ask for reservations.

4. Lake Pflugerville

Lake Pflugerville is a 180-acre reservoir located in Pflugerville, Texas. Different amenities are also available in the area such as a 3-mile trail, playground, and a beach area. Watercraft rentals are also available in Lake Pflugerville Park.

5. Krause Springs

A well-known camping and swimming site located in Spicewood is approximately 30 miles from West Austin. Krause Springs in a privately owned area by the Krause family for over 50 years and have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. There are over 32 springs in the property with several man-made and natural pools that flow to Lake Travis. Visitors are welcome to relax in the pool, enjoy the camping sites, RV area, and stroll at the Butterfly garden.

6. Deep Eddy Pool

A man-made historic swimming pool in Austin, the Deep Eddy Pool is a popular spot for adults and children. Visitors enjoy the swimming pool and its large wading pool in the area. During summer, they host movie nights and sporting events.

7. Pace Bend Park

Cool off the waters in lake Travis! Pace Bend Park also offers a wide range of activities for families and friends such as camping, hiking, biking, and more. You can also bring your pets with you but they aren’t allowed to be off-leash.

8. McKinney Falls State Park

McKinney Falls State Park is just about thirty minutes away from Central Austin. The 641-acre park with 80 campsites has beautiful swimming spots you can plunge into. Several recreational opportunities are available in the area for you and your family to enjoy.

10. Bartholomew Pool

A newly renovated swimming hole that has two pools for kids and s four-lane 25-yard lap pool that is 12-ft deep. Admissions for Austin residents range from $1-$3.
