Neighborhoods Near Central Austin

Central Austin is home to diverse neighborhoods developed from 1935 to 1970. Downtown Austin is one of the areas that are included within the neighborhoods to Central Austin alongside sought-after neighborhoods of Rosedale, Tarrytown, Hyde Park, Allandale, Crestview, and Violet Crown. Allandale
Allandale is a quiet suburban neighborhood located at the North-Central part of Austin. It is one of the ideal neighborhoods to live in due to its accessibility to plenty of local roads, shops, and green spaces. Allandale is also one of the most walkable neighborhoods in Austin due to the low traffic and quiet feel.

Tarrytown
Tarrytown is another neighborhood in Central Austin to the west of Downtown. It is also an affluent neighborhood that bordered by Lake Austin and homes with beautiful trees with plenty of outdoor recreational opportunities.

Hyde Park
Hyde Park was considered as the first suburb in Austin. The historic neighborhoods are known for its personality and character. Mueller

College Town and Nightlife
With plenty of young professionals and students from the University of Texas – Austin, the feel of the neighborhood seems like a college town. Some of the well-known streets are Rainey Street, a residential turned commercial row filled with upscale eateries and food trucks. Sixth Street, also known as Dirty Sixth, is one of the best places to experience the bustling array of bars, restaurants, and entertainment scene. The streets are even closed through Thursday and Saturday night since it is expected that the area gets populated during those nights!

In Central Austin, there is so much food to choose that it might look like you can visit different restaurants every day for an entire year! Outdoor Adventure
With Central Austin being a neighborhood filled with skyscrapers and modern amenities, plenty of parks and greenbelts are available to get in touch with nature. Swede Hill Pocket Park is popular for picnics and it also located within a neighborhood. A great place to relax and sit beneath the trees.

Shoal Creek Greenbelt is a greenway in the heart of Austin. The greenbelt is one of the oldest trails and offers hike and bike trails. Since Downtown Austin is just a few minutes away, residents can paddle and kayak at Lady Bird Lake or go for a run and cycle at the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail!
