Filled with plenty of attractions that are perfect for the young and old, Austin is not just a great travel spot for kids but it is also one of the best places in the nation to raise a family. Austin was named as one of the smartest cities after having four of metro Austin school systems that were named by CNN Money. 1. Education

Four of the best school districts in metro Austin are Eanes Independent School District, Round Rock, San Marcos, and Austin. Austin Independent School District has outperformed many schools across the nation when it comes to eight grade science compared to other urban districts across the United States according to the National Assessment of Educational Progress. The area also has private schools, charter, and trade schools.

Aside from excelling in the academic environment, quality of life, and professional opportunities, Austin also tops in higher education. Lake Travis, Zilker Park, Barton Hills, and Barton Creek Greenbelt are some of the popular attractions you can take your kids for some outdoor fun. Hike at Mt. Bonnell that offers a gorgeous view of the landscape of downtown and Lake Austin. Zilker Park is the perfect place to go for a picnic!
